Top clean makeup picks for winter

by Lucie Wall on January 30, 2020

Since working at Out of Hand, I have made the transition to clean beauty because I wanted to know what I was putting on my body. Luckily, the clean beauty industry has caught up (dare I say surpassed?) the beauty industry, and there are now so many clean beauty products it is hard to choose from!

Working at Out of Hand, I have been lucky enough to try products from Ooh! Beautiful. Together with the beauty team; Andi, Blair, and Lindsey, we have picked our top makeup beauty products for winter!

Concealer + Foundation: RMS Un Cover Up

The "un" cover up won't sink into wrinkles, instead providing a lightweight "second skin."Coconut oil is amazing for the skin during winter, this crowd favorite cream concealer moisturizes & is buildable from light to full coverage.

Available in 16 shades!

Their brand new "un" cover cream foundation takes the benefits of the concealer and enhances them. Try to stay away from powder foundations during winter as they make you appear chalky.

PRO TIP: The foundation is more full coverage, but mixed with a few drops of your favorite face oil, it provides a dewy look + easy application!

Setting your look: translucent powder + hydrating mist

Minimal powder is key in the winter, it accentuates your dry skin. However, a small amount of RMS Translucent Powder will set your foundation without over drying. Add a spritz of Maya Chia The Optimist Essence Spray (formulated with amino & fatty acids, antioxidants, astaxanthin, and chia seed extract) to moisturize & plump skin.

Bye bye 👋 dry lips: serum, scrub & balm

Lips are very sensitive and become extremely dry during the winter. Our tricks: put on FitGlow Night Serum before bed for intense hydration while you sleep, try a lip scrub once or twice a week to remove dead skin, and use Ogee Tinted Lip Oil during the day!

Ogee is a brand new line of ours, the jojoba oil is sooo hydrating, and the peppermint oil soothes & plumps.

Add some shine: highlighters for winter

Two of our favorite highlighters are perfect for staying hydrated in winter; Maya Chia's oil serum Highlight of the Day & RMS' coconut oil based Living Luminizer. You just need a few dots of the Maya Chia highlighter on your cheekbones, nose bridge, and cupid's bow to create a dewy, shiny finish.

PRO TIP: add a few drops to your liquid/cream foundation (the RMS "Un cover up") to create an all over shine!

Living Luminizer is one of our best setting products, for good reason. The portable highlighter looks beautiful on cheekbones, lips, and eyes!
